Sukanya Burman Dance is seeking dancers for upcoming projects and performances. We are looking for artists with a strong foundation in contemporary dance and a genuine desire to train in and engage with Indian classical forms.

Who We’re Looking For

Dancers with at least 5 years of strong contemporary dance technique

Interest in learning and training in Bharatanatyam and Kathak
-
Curiosity, openness, and a commitment to ongoing practice

Comfort working collaboratively and across movement lineages

Availability for Saturday afternoon rehearsals
What We Offer

Opportunities to perform in a variety of settings, including theaters, community spaces, and site-responsive environments

Ongoing training in Indian classical dance forms within a contemporary choreographic context
To Apply
Prior experience in Indian classical dance is welcome but not required. Dancers should be physically prepared for rigorous movement practice and attentive to detail, musicality, and embodiment.
