Join Our Team! Sukanya Burman Dance is Hiring Teaching Artists.

Sukanya Burman Dance (SBD) is looking for enthusiastic and experienced dance instructors to lead weekly classes and contribute to our after-school and community programs in Chautauqua County, NY and Erie County, NY. We are currently seeking professionals to teach the following styles:

  • Hip Hop or Urban/Street Styles (Waacking/Voguing/House etc)

  • Latin Dance Forms (e.g., Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, etc.)

  • Creative Movement

  • Modern/Contemporary Dance

  • Kathak/Bharatanatyam

 

Job Details:

  • Pay: Starting at $30/hour + lesson planning stipend

  • Class Types: After-school programs designed for children and weekly evening classes for teens and adults of all levels.

  • Schedule: Flexible opportunities to teach on weekdays and weekends, with potential for workshops and special events.

  • Location: SBD Studio in Jamestown, NY and local partner sites for after-school and community programs in Chautauqua County and Erie County, NY.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead engaging, accessible, and skill-building dance classes.

  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for students of all ages and abilities.

  • Collaborate with the SBD team to align with organizational goals and program themes.

  • Skillfully execute SBD curriculum for after-school programs that emphasize creativity, cultural appreciation, and personal growth.

 

Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in teaching the chosen dance style(s).

  • Experience working with diverse age groups and skill levels.

  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere.

  • Passion for using dance as a tool for expression, empowerment, and community building.
