Daryl Simons Jr. is a nonprofit arts leader, executive search professional, writer, photographer, and Co-Founder/Associate Director of Sukanya Burman Dance. Based in Jamestown, New York, his work spans arts administration, organizational development, communications, fundraising, event production, and community engagement. At Sukanya Burman Dance, Daryl has helped build the organization’s operational foundation, brand identity, development strategy, digital presence, and public programming, including the continued growth of the Jamestown Dance Festival.
Alongside his work in the arts, Daryl brings a background in executive search and talent strategy, where he has led research-driven recruitment efforts, candidate engagement, market analysis, and stakeholder communication for leadership roles across professional services and mission-driven organizations. His earlier professional experience in human services, behavioral health, and community-based care continues to inform his approach to leadership, equity, access, and organizational responsibility.
As a creative practitioner, Daryl’s photography and writing often focus on performance, people, place, and the role of arts and culture in shaping community identity. Across his work, he is particularly interested in helping organizations tell clearer, more human stories, build stronger systems, and create meaningful opportunities for artists, audiences, and communities to connect.
