Valerie "Val" Lytle
Dance Collaborator
Valerie Lytle is a dancer, movement artist, and ballet educator from Los Angeles, now based in Buffalo, New York. She grew up training in classical ballet with a strong focus on French and Vaganova techniques, and later continued her dance education at École Supérieure de Danse Contemporaine de Paris, where she studied classical ballet under Agnès Letestu and Josette Amiel. During her time in Europe, Valerie also had the opportunity to work with contemporary choreographers and continued dancing and creating work in Iceland, Belgium, and across France.
After returning to Los Angeles, Valerie refocused her movement practice around accessibility, with a desire to share dance and movement with anyone interested in connecting more deeply with their body. Since relocating to Buffalo, she has continued to bring her knowledge and love of movement to Western New York, including teaching ballet with Lisa Taylor Academy of Dance since 2026. Outside of dance, Valerie works with NPR out of Buffalo.
