Sukanya Burman Dance invites applications from artists based in Western New York for Chaturanga| Art in Flux, a multidisciplinary, community-engaged arts program in Jamestown, NY.
Chaturanga| Art in Flux offers quarterly showing and engagement opportunities where artists present low-tech works-in-progress and collaborate with audiences through interactive art-making sessions rooted in community themes.
Selected artists will receive a $500 honorarium and be paired with a dedicated mentor (up to 5 hours of mentorship) — a curator, experienced artist, or cultural worker to support their creative process, offer feedback, and help shape the public presentation in our new radically inclusive venue the 2ndSpace (Jamestown NY).
⚫Preference will be given to artists residing in Chautauqua county.
⚫ Artists must be 18+ and based in Western New York.
⚫ Following disciplines welcome: dance/movement, performance art, music, storytelling, spoken word, and interdisciplinary work.
A diverse panel will review applications based on alignment with the program’s mission, clarity of artistic vision, and potential for community engagement.
Applications accepted on a rolling basis. This opportunity is open to emerging and established artists alike.
Chaturanga | Art in Flux is supported by funding through ASI WNY’s Creative Impact Fund, established in 2024 through a New York State Senate initiative to increase equitable access to arts funding across Western New York.
